Canned Motor Pumps Technology

No Leakage

Due to the hermetically sealed design of the canned motor pump there is no leakage of the pumped liquid into the environment. This gives the canned motor pump technology a tremendous advantage when it comes to operational safety and environmental protection. Due to the no leakage feature, these pumps are perfectly suitable for handling explosive, toxic, corrosive, or flammable liquids.

No Shaft Seal

Despite a huge engineering effort that has been put into an optimal design of a seal chamber to ensure suitable pressure conditions around the shaft seal, it is a well-known fact that a vast majority of standard centrifugal pump failures come down to mechanical seal. This is completely avoided with canned motor pumps, resulting in more reliable operation increasing the mean time between failures.

No External Lubrication

The canned motor pump shaft is housed on hydrodynamic slide bearings, which are lubricated by the pumped liquid. Therefore, there is no need to check and maintain any lubrication levels, which means smooth and trouble-free operation.

Compact Design

With no bearing housing, no shaft coupling and with motor connected directly to pump casing, the footprint of the canned motor pump is considerably smaller compared to a standard centrifugal pump. Thanks to its compact and self-contained design, the canned motor pumps are ideal for applications with tight spatial requirements, also reducing the installation costs.

Low Noise & Vibration

The whole rotor assembly is completely filled with pumped liquid, which leads to significantly reduced noise and vibration levels.
